These days, it’s pretty much impossible to talk about up-and-coming models without mentioning the Hadid sisters. Both Gigi, 20, and Bella, 18, have, independently, forged successful modeling careers in just a little over a year — but they’ve never actually appeared in a photo shoot together. (That is, if you exclude Instagram.)

But that’s about to change: Wearing coordinating sexy, shaggy hair, cut-out swimsuits, fur jackets, Louboutins, and sheer thigh-highs, the Hadids appear on the latest issue of V Magazine in all their supermodel sister glory.

The accompanying editorial, photographed by Steven Klein and styled by Patti Wilson, sees the sisters posing provocatively in the baseball park at NYC’s Chelsea Piers — and we’re getting some major hot-goth-girls-playing-hooky vibes. The girls also got interviewed by legendary model China Machado about some of the most vital topics affecting their lives today: guys, girls, and of course, Instagram.

On whether Gigi (who’s rumored to be dating Joe Jonas) and Bella (ditto, The Weeknd) have ever fought over a dude, Bella says, “No, never. We would never touch the same person.” Agrees Gigi, “We don’t have the same type.”

The same sentiment of mutual respect seems to extend into the ladies’ relationships with fellow models. “There are some people who are mean at times, but I think generally we are in a generation of models where it’s becoming normal to support each other, and I think it’s really different,” says Gigi, who counts Kendall Jenner and Lily Aldridge among her close fashion industry friends. “We’re lucky to be in that generation of girls where we’re really pushing for girl power and supporting each other and being friends with everyone. And I think it’s becoming less cool to be like the catty models that we’ve all heard the stories about.”

She counts pal Taylor Swift’s celeb-filled video for “Bad Blood” as a perfect example. “There are a lot of different girls in the industry, including Taylor Swift—I just did her music video. She put something like 20 successful women in the industry in her video. I felt so lucky to do that because I felt like it was really a sign of our collective willingness to support each other and have each other’s backs and kind of hold hands along the way.”

Adds Bella, “No matter if they’re working next to you, below you, or above you, be kind and generous to everyone you meet.”

And, when asked what would happen if photo-sharing app Instagram suddenly ceased to exist (the horror!), Gigi — who has over 4 million followers — has very mixed feelings.

“I feel like the world would be so different,” she tells V. “I mean, really it’d be great because everyone would be off their phones. But I think it would change our industry and the world. I think people wouldn’t know how to function, unfortunately. It really is the center point of so many industries now. I think it would change the economy.”

Could the end of Instagram usher us into the next Great Depression? We don’t ever want to find out.
