Georgina Rodríguez Makes First Public Appearance at Cannes After Tragedy

Georgina Rodríguez has returned to the spotlight weeks after the loss of her newborn son with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Argentinian-born model made an appearance at none other than the Cannes Film Festival in France on May 25, where she graced the red carpet in a shimmering silver halter gown, emerald earrings, emerald bracelet and matching silver heels.

Rodríguez attended the premiere of Elvis, documenting her flash trip before returning home to her five children.

"Back to Cannes🖤," the 28-year-old model captioned her post, where she is sporting an all-black leather jumpsuit with black pointy heels and Balenciaga sunglasses.

In another post, the I am Georgina star was photographed outside her private jet all dressed up in her gown.

"MERCI CANNES 🇫🇷," she wrote in the carrousel post, which featured behind-the-scenes moments prior to the big event as well as a photo of four of her children and her styling team smiling at home.

This was not the mother of five's first visit to the iconic film festival. Last year she made her debut in a Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2010 Haute Couture dress, which was featured in her Netflix documentary series.

The mother of five is slowly settling back into her new normal after announcing the death of one of her twins, a son, in April 2022. Sometime after the somber news broke and the Ronaldo-Rodríguez family settled, the model shared photos of the surviving twin, a daughter, named Esmeralda.

On April 18, the couple shared the news of the loss of their son in a statement on Instagram, where they requested that their privacy be respected as they worked through the grave loss as a family.

"It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel," the couple began. "Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness."

"We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time," they continued. "Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you."

Ronaldo and Rodríguez have been together since 2017 and share five children together, Cristiano Jr., Eva María, Mateo Ronaldo, Alana Martina and now, Esmeralda.
