We're so there for finding the most simple ways to make desserts look impressive. It's not that we don't want to put a lot of time or effort into our creations, but there's definitely a time and place for spending hours in the kitchen decorating cookies, and that time is not on a Saturday afternoon, squeezed in between brunching, pretending to exercise, and binge-watching all the TV we've missed from the week. Seriously, priorities. Needless to say, we've gotten pretty good at hacking store-bought cookie dough, and our latest treat is going to dazzle you. Not being cheesy -that's actually accurate.

Geode cookies look like something you bought from a trendy bakery, but they're actually the result of store-bought sugar cookie dough, colored sanding sugar, and some rock candy. Seriously, if you can handle not burning the already made cookie dough, you can fake your way to these blinged out cookies.

Roll out your sugar cookie dough (the trick is to keep them misshapen so they look like rocks) and bake as per usual. Then whip up some icing, frost, and work some sanding sugar magic. Finally, decorate with rock candies for a crystallized effect.
