Gemma Chan Confirms Partying With Celine Dion Is Just as Fun as You’d Imagine
What did we do to deserve Celine Dion? The French-Canadian singer seems to spark joy wherever she goes, whether she’s wearing couture fashions on, like, a regular Tuesday; showing off her insane sing-along skills on Carpool Karaoke; or her living her best life while fangirling hard at a Lady Gaga concert. No matter what she’s up to, Dion brings the fun—and today a fellow star just confirmed that partying with the musical legend is just as fun as you’d think it would be.
In a new interview with the Guardian, Crazy Rich Asians star Gemma Chan recounts partying it up with Dion following this year’s Met Gala—and it’s everything we could have hoped for. The story begins like all others: a quick wardrobe change and a party bus, which, for some reason, included Dion among its passengers.
“She was an absolute fucking legend,” Chan said of meeting Dion in a party bus. “It was me and her and her dancers, just dancing on this bus. It was the best half an hour of my life.” While Chan claims there is video evidence of the epic night, the actress insists that it will sadly never see the light of day. “I can’t believe it happened. Nothing will top that. I pole danced on a bus with Celine Dion.” I guess some things are sacred—though we’d do just about anything to see Dion’s pole-dancing skills. The only thing better than all of that would be including Jennifer Lopez, pole-dancing pro, in the mix too.
