Like many people, I have my go-to places that I swing by regularly for unique and stylish home finds. When I’m looking for something a bit more unique, though, I head to World Market, where I love to wander the aisles browsing the store’s on-trend furniture and colorful, eclectic decor, lighting, and rugs from around the world. Hitting up the international chocolates selection in the store’s food section doesn’t hurt either.

Curious to know what treasures a professional would zero in on among all of World Market’s good stuff, I asked Marcie Anderson, owner and lead designer at HomeStyled in Nashville, what would make it into her cart if she had a $100 budget. Her selections are perfect pieces for staging a property or just giving a home a bit of a refresh for spring. And while each piece is great on its own, Anderson’s choices also complement each other beautifully.

“I really like this rug because of the variety of tonal colors that will tie in a number of finishes,” says Anderson. The 2x3 size is under $10 (a runner is available for a bit more), and the muted palette of this handwoven find says spring but not in a been-there done-that overly pastel way.

  2. Olive Waffle Weave Cotton Hand Towel

I find choosing towels can be very hit-or-miss, so I’m excited to get Anderson’s green light on these. “I personally own these towels, and I appreciate the texture and that they are forgiving for stains,” she says. I usually stick to all white towels, but this chic olive shade just may make me a color convert.

  3. Faux Moss Branch Stem

“I really enjoy the texture and sculptural element of these branches,” says Anderson. “I can see these grouped in a vase or laid on a dresser.” And at just $7.99 for each 34-inch long stem, picking up a few of these mossy branches won’t break the bank.

Checkerboard patterns are super trendy, and this 34-inch lumbar pillow is an easy way to work that motif into a living room, family room, or bedroom. “I appreciate the oversized dimension of this pillow,” says Anderson. “It adds a fun tonal pop on a bench, sofa, or bed. I would double these up on a bed.”

“I am really into the texture, and the idea of sandstone at this price point is amazing,” says Anderson of this versatile canister for just $15. “It’s a very transitional piece that could fit in with a traditional, modern, or transitional home.” Besides looking stylish, it’s a great place to stash bathroom must-haves like cotton balls or hair accessories so that they’re accessible but out of sight for everyday life or real estate showings.
