This Bride planned her special day all the while completing medical school, so it's no wonder she wanted to create a romantic garden escape. The Green Gable Estate offered up the perfect setting, with an adorable gazebo for the ceremony backdrop, golden lighting, and lush greenery everywhere you look! Needless to say, lovelies, these images by Whiskers & Willow Photography are magical, as is the film captured by Emma Lynn Cinema. From the Bride... Burke and I met towards the end of college at Harvard and fell pretty hard for each other early on. We survived two years of long distance before reuniting in NYC to explore and eat our way through the city. We love Central Park, but most places are pretty crowded. There's a beautiful pond fairly north in the park, and the day he proposed, it was misting, and we were alone at the pond, which made for a wonderfully intimate experience. We planned the wedding from afar with plenty of help from my parents and friends on the ground, who visited the venue and tasted cake for us. Thankfully, it was my last year of medical school, and I had sporadic periods of free time to coordinate with wonderful vendors and work on art projects for the wedding, and I enjoyed the chance to be creative and intentional in creating imagery for our wedding. We wanted an intimate, outdoor garden wedding and magically found a venue that offered the things we most prioritized – lots of natural beauty, unique details, and plenty of internal organization. We absolutely loved the venue, and it was even more beautiful during golden hour on the day of the wedding. We really enjoyed painting the cornhole set with our monogram and making strawberry champagne jam favors. This was the most fun day of our lives! We were overwhelmed by the support and love of our friends and family traveling great distances to be with us, and we were blessed with beautiful weather. Our first look was very emotional, and everything afterwards felt like a beautiful blur. I loved walking down the aisle with both of my parents by my side and with a dear friend playing Clair de Lune on the violin. Our handwritten vows were appreciated by all and set a lovely and personal tone for the day. We had so much fun on the dance floor and at the after party and didn't want the day to ever end. The significance of the day and the people matter infinitely more than any material good, so my advice to Brides is to include what actually makes you happy and don't stress too much about everything else. You can only plan so much, and it feels amazing to let everything go and focus on being together with loved ones to celebrate the commitment of you and your partner.
