Gabrielle Union just dropped her latest collection for New York & Company and it’s safe to say that it’s a work of art. The 46-year-old actress is an avid art collector with her husband, Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade, and for her new collection, Union wanted art to be the centerpiece.
The line is full of bright and bold wardrobe staples, pleated midi skirts, sheath dresses and trousers that were designed by an all-female team. The prints were painted by female artists. A core part of Union’s New York & Co. line is to champion and lift up other women. This ethos was visible in past collection campaigns, which featured friends and colleagues, Ajiona Alexus, Essence Uhura Atkins (who officiated Union and Wade’s wedding) and Valarie Pettiford. This season’s collection is no different.
Union’s goal with her line always came down to one question, “Will this work for all women?” Union tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “I’m from Omaha, Nebraska. If I’m going to create a line, I want to make sure my own family can afford it because if I can’t do that, I haven’t accomplished anything.”
The collection is priced between $60 and $130, with the majority of the pieces under $100. Sizes are wide ranging, available in XXS to XXL or 00 to 20.
