Gabrielle Union‘s natural hair is flourishing, and the trolls will just have to deal!
The actress turned hair-care creator has mostly worn wigs and hair extensions throughout her career, but she has recently taken to Instagram to promote her Flawless by Gabrielle Union hair-care line and show off her “healthy, nourished, and nurtured hair.”
I had no clue that underneath those perfectly polished weaves, Union was protecting a head full of curls. But the Being Mary Jane star’s defined ringlets frame her face like a stunning halo. This Afro puffs moment, for which she went makeup free, also highlights the 44-year-old’s natural hair and serves as inspiration to keep things simple.
In a candid personal essay for Glamour, Union gets real about not allowing her hairstyles to define who she is as a person. “It’s been over 20 years of my hair being used and abused, first by myself, then by those who didn’t know what they were doing. But I’ve finally gotten to a place of self-acceptance and recognizing that my natural hair is beautiful — and so is whatever weave I may wear.”
