Gabrielle Union Is Still Having to Defend Herself from the America's Got Talent Controversy
Over a month after it was first reported that Gabrielle Union spoke out about toxic culture behind the scenes at America's Got Talent, the actress is still having to speak out and defend herself.

Last November, it was reported that Union exited the show after lodging complaints about witnessing racist behavior — and after reportedly being told her hairstyles were "too black" for AGT. Though fellow judge Julianne Hough also departed the show, she said at the time, "I had a wonderful time on America’s Got Talent, I loved working with the cast, crew and producers. I am happy to continue my working relationship with NBC. I’m looking forward to what the future holds."
In another response tweet on Friday, Union wrote, "Why anyone would gleefully get up on TV and tell lies that NO ONE disputed... But we already know."

"First of all, I can’t speak for sexism because I’m not a woman, but I can speak on behalf of any racism comments," he said. "That was never my experience... in fact, it was the most diverse place I have ever been in my 20 years of entertainment."

"I have to say this, too. When you look at what the allegations were about, it was given by an unnamed source," he added. "My thing is — it’s funny because I believe you should listen to women, you should always believe women, so I asked my wife what I should do. She was like, first of all, if it’s coming from an unnamed source, because Gabrielle Union has not made any statement to this day about any of these allegations publicly... if she hasn’t made a statement, why would you?"

Last week, model-turned-TV judge Heidi Klum said that she had an "amazing experience" on AGT, and said that while she "can't speak" for Union and "didn't experience the same thing," "To me, everyone treats you with the utmost respect. I've never seen anything that was weird or hurtful."
