Gabrielle Union May Have Just Shaded 'AGT' With Tweet On How To Give A 'Solid Apology'

If you're a fan of America's Got Talent, then you likely watched Gabrielle Union take a spot for the first time (along with Julianne Hough) at the judge's table last season. But it was announced on Thursday, November 22, that both Gabrielle and Julianne would not be returning to the show for season 15. And there's been some major fallout since the announcement was made.

There have been multiple reports alleging issues between AGT's network NBC and Gabrielle. According to a report published by Variety, Gabrielle was allegedly let go after urging AGT's producers to report an incident involving a racist joke to Human Resources, as well as allegations that the producers told her multiple times that her hairstyles on the show were "too black."

In response to this, a spokesperson for NBC and Fremantle provided a statement to People last Tuesday, November 26, stating, "America's Got Talent has a long history of inclusivity and diversity in both our talent and the acts championed by the show. The judging and host line-up has been regularly refreshed over the years and that is one of the reasons for AGT's enduring popularity. NBC and the producers take any issues on set seriously."

On Wednesday, November 27, Gabrielle sent out a tweet expressing gratitude, likely directed to her fans on social media.

"So many tears, so much gratitude. THANK YOU! Just when you feel lost, adrift, alone... you got me up off the ground. Humbled and thankful, forever," the tweet read.



On Monday, December 2, NBC and AGT's production companies, Syco Entertainment and Fremantle, released a statement to CNN that they're hoping to work with Gabrielle and "hear more about her concerns."

"We remain committed to ensuring a respectful workplace for all employees and take very seriously any questions about workplace culture," the statement said, per CNN. "We are working with Ms. Union through her representatives to hear more about her concerns, following which we will take whatever next steps may be appropriate."

After that most recent statement was released, Gabrielle retweeted a post from freelance writer Joelle Monique, who listed steps on the proper way to apologize. Gabrielle tweeted, "This! This! AND THIIISSSSSSS!!!!!!" in response to Monique's instructions for a "solid apology," which included: "1. Sincerely admit wrong doing directly to the offended party. 2. Be twice as loud correcting your mistake as you were making the mistake. 3. Lay out steps to correct your behavior in the future. Anything less is covering your own ass."

It's unclear whether this tweet was a response to NBC's statement or just a coincidence, but either way, it's pretty safe to say that Gabrielle will keep her fans and followers posted on the latest developments.
