Nylah Mann, 6, is in kindergarten at Warrenwood Elementary School in Fayetteville.

She was nominated as a Future Black History Maker because "Nylah demonstrates academic success and asks higher thinking questions that are outside of the norm for the content in which we are learning. Overall, Nylah is a future strong leader in our community," her nominator writes.

What's your favorite subject? P.E.

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a doctor when I grow up.

What are your hobbies? Spend time with my family, I like to color, and I like to play with my toys

What are you really good at doing? I am good at drawing, dancing, remembering things, singing and being a big sister!

What's your favorite thing about yourself? I like that I am creative and smart

Who is your role model? My mommy

If you could meet any famous person, who would it be? I would like to meet Jo-Jo Siwa.

What's your favorite song? My favorite song is "Cupid Shuffle."

What's your favorite food or drink? My favorite food is steak and strawberries and cherry Kool-Aid to drink.

What's your favorite movie or TV show? My favorite show is "Lay-Lay" on Netflix

What's your favorite book? Minnie Mouse garden countdown

What makes your child a Future Black History Maker? Nylah has exceptional leadership skills, compassion for others, and always thinking of ways she can help make the world a better place.

Why are you proud of your child? I am proud of Nylah because of her thoughtfulness, her independence and creativity!
