David: I watched for weeks as Covid-19 hit the US and South Korea simultaneously. South Korea immediately ramped up testing to 10000 test a day while the US struggled and barely did a couple hundred early in this outbreak. The number of cases grew exponentially the early weeks in each country. South Korea continued its testing to lock down and contain the spread of those infected and those exposed. In the US Trump downplayed the virus and bragged how good a job he did by shutting down flights from China. Even created a conspiracy theorie that there was a massive resistance from the dems and the candidates for him shutting down flights from China. In reality, there was very few including no candidates that opposed this action. But as the number of cases grew, the question everyone was asking, "where are the test"? But the trouble with Trump, he doesn't lead, he reacts to how it will affect him, he doesn't know how to think strategically. He downplayed the virus for weeks and continued to brag about how good a job he has done. He brought false hope with claims of millions of test kits that are coming and how anyone who wants go be tested will get a test, he bragged about this Google website that is going to this great new way of tracking and getting everyone tested, next up was miracle game changer drug. Now hear we are a couple weeks later and we are the leader in cases in the world! And where is South Korea? We ran neck and neck about 9000 cases in each country until about a couple of weeks ago when South Korea started to flatten the curve as the US curve got steeper. What did Trump do, he reacted earlier this week by having his experts get on TV bragging how we tested more than South Korea in the last 8 days that took them weeks to reach that number. That was nothing more than a stunt that doesn't portray the truth! Cases in the US and South Korea about 15 days ago, each about 9000. Today, US over 100000 and still rapidly rising, South Korea still at about 9000 and rising slowly. These are the numbers that really matter, so bringing water to a fire that has already burnt half the house down isn't going to bring back the burnt part of the house. The numbers don't lie, and I fear the US could lead the world in deaths from this virus if our hospital systems collapse.
