Frost Yourself! A New How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days Is Happening

True rom-com stans always have 2003’s How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days on the movie rotation. Starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, the classic film follows Andie Anderson, Composure magazine’s how-to columnist, who makes a deal with her boss to write a story about dating and dumping the same guy in 10 days; at the same time, Benjamin Barry, an ad exec, has a bet with his boss that he can make any women fall in love with him during that exact same time frame. Cue their meet-cute—and the hilarious shenanigans that follow!

If you’re like us, you can recite basically the whole movie by heart—“does Princess Sophia want to come out and play?”; “women of New York, frost yourselves!”—but now, there may be some new material to work with: Today, it was announced that a modern-day revival of the cult classic is in the works. The reboot will be written by comedian Guy Branum, and it will be put into production by the streaming platform Quibi. No release date or casting news has been set as of yet, though a cameo by the OG stars would be nothing short of amazing.

So, how will the new take differ from the original? Will Andie still work at Composure, or will she be a blogger now? Per the release, the new story will follow a “glib young online columnist and an oversexed advertising executive who both need to prove, once and for all, they’re capable of being monogamous. They soon discover, however, keeping a relationship is harder than Andie Anderson made it look!” Basically: it’s a loose homage to the original—with more sex drive.
