Front Row with Pop Singer Ciara

What happens when a pop star hits Paris? Multiple selfie attacks, at least if you’re Ciara. “I can always tell when they’re playing my song here because all of a sudden, the iPhones—they’re all being held up to my face like, please! What if we took one,” she laughed, “and just started texting?” (Let’s be real—they’d be thrilled.)

The singer, model, and fierce Twitter presence is in town for fashion week. She’s been spotted front row at H&M so far, and since her bestie is Riccardo Tisci, we expect a Givenchy sighting in our future, too.

“But every time I’m here, the first thing I do is go to the Louvre,” she said. “I always have to visit La Marie,” aka the Mona Lisa, “because she’s a true muse. She’s one of the most beautiful, most major images in history. And I also walk around the building because the core of it is stunning. No matter how much money or influence you have, you know, you can’t buy a house like The Louvre. You can try. But I think it’s better to respect it as a masterpiece and visit it, and appreciate it. It’s an honor just to walk around.”

The publicly celibate mom is also in for some shopping. “Of course I still go to stores!” She laughs. “I’m incognito but I’m there. I went to H&M to buy some bathing suits because I’m going on vacation soon. I can’t say where, of course, but I need some new bikinis because I’m going away for some sun. I mean,” she laughed, “everyone can use some beach time, right? I definitely could!”

Outside, it started hailing for the second time that day. Paris, we love you, but can you follow Ciara’s lead and move the shows to Biarritz?
