Just days after the Friends: Reunion, Matthew Perry has confirmed his split from fiancée Molly Hurwitz.

The actor, 51, has been covered a lot in the press this week thanks to the HBO Friends: Reunion which aired on Friday. While many viewers took to social media to express their delight at the show, others voiced concerns for Matthew after he seemingly slurred his words.

Now, five days later on 2 June 2021, Matthew has announced his split from literary agent Molly, six months after getting engaged. In a statement from his rep (via People), Matthew said, "Sometimes things just don’t work out and this is one of them. I wish Molly the best."

Matthew and Molly, 29, started dating in 2018 but went public with their relationship in February 2020 on Valentine's Day when Molly posted a picture of the actor to Instagram. "Second year being my valentine, but his first as an Instagram influencer. HVD to my favourite," she wrote (via People magazine).

The pair got engaged in November 2020, when Matthew told people, "I decided to get engaged. Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time." A source had previously told The Sun that the pair "hit it off immediately," but sadly it wasn't to be.

Here's to hoping Matthew and Holly are both doing alright.
