A Freshwater Pearl Phone Strap to Accessorize Your Accessories

When you work for a website like Fashionista — especially when it's been for the better part of a decade — you start feeling like you've run out of ways to say something is both classic and trendy. Little black dresses, aviator sunglasses, leather jackets, white T-shirts… we all get it. Pearls are one of those things: They're currently Having a Moment, but they've also been used to make jewelry since literally 420 BC.
Fast forward back to now, and I've been loving Frasier Sterling's Malibu Phone Strap, featuring a 15-inch string of freshwater pearls. Looped into my Wildflower x Sandy Liang phone case, it's a doubled-up accessory moment that makes my selfies that much cuter and my phone that much easier to spot in a sea of iPhones.
Also — and it's not explicitly rated for this, so don't yell at me — it makes for a great little fidget toy. A much chicer alternative to spinners and the like, the benefits of fidget jewelry might be anecdotal, but I'm happily one of those anecdotes. Rubbing the pearls between my fingers helps ground me when my anxiety is being a little bitch, and since they're real pearls, they're cold to the touch at first. Since it's not made directly for fidgeting, I'm sure to be gentle/not do it too often, but when I'm staving off an anxiety attack in the cleaning supplies aisle of Walgreens, it's great to have handy.
