Fans couldn't get enough of the cocky survivalist who referred to himself as “the schnitzel.”
On Sunday’s season six finale of Naked and Afraid XL, fans made it clear that one contestant stood above the rest. Customs agent Bulent Gurcan spent the majority of his 40 days in the South African bush alone, but that didn’t stop him from succeeding in the challenge and winning over viewers. Going into the final few days of the challenge, Bulent left his solo camp and in hopes of finding the remaining four contestants and sharing resources. Unfortunately, his union with the other contestants only lasted about 48 hours before both parties decided to mutually part ways. “They raise my blood pressure because they just keep bitching and bitching and bitching instead of doing something,” explained Bulent. The group expected him to provide them with meat, and chastised him whenever he was not in his hunting blind. Fed up with the group, Bulent told them, “If you don't see me getting up and going, why didn't you lift your fat ass up and do it yourself?” Fans found Bulent’s blunt honesty and savage responses endearing, while also being impressed with his survival skills. Many took to Twitter to sing the contestant’s praises. https://twitter.com/shopgurl80/status/1290096865296474112 https://twitter.com/ssmith556/status/1290110011520081921 https://twitter.com/Zerrick_Gerard/status/1290106844489236481 https://twitter.com/darthpaul67/status/1290101742315532288 True to his abrasive and over-confident nature, Bulent summed up his experience saying, “[I did] 30 days alone with eight pounds of catfish, about three pounds of lizard, 25 lizard eggs and 20 terrapin eggs... so guess what? Suck it.”
