With more than 30 Cartier fragrances under her belt, Mathilde Laurent, in-house perfumer for Cartier, recently embarked on her most challenging mission yet: creating the scent of a diamond. Here, what the Parisian perfumer keeps on her vanity at all times.

Daily Routine
Her latest brainchild, Cartier Carat ($72), marries seven colors of the rainbow into one effervescent eau de parfum. Another Laurent favorite: Kyrnella Crème Immortelle ($34). “It’s my Corsican beauty secret. I use it every day.” Imiza Oliu Di Sole ($33)—a luxe, do-everything beauty oil—comes in at a close second. Her morning cleanser is always Ballot Flurin Propolis Soap, a bar of facial soap ideal for oily or stressed-out skin.

Makeup Mantra
Like many French women, Laurent’s makeup routine is simple. “I always wear Chanel Powder Eye Shadow, ($30)” she says. “I have every single color!” at night, she’ll add in the darkest kohl liner she can find, usually Lancôme. To take it all off, Caudalie Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil  ($28) takes the top spot.

Closet Staples
“I’m always in Converse—I have more than 20 pairs—and a blazer by Racil or Martin Margiela," says Laurent. On her wrists: Cartier Juste un Clou and her Apple Watch.
