When Netflix cleverly decided to release “Too Hot to Handle” in April while everyone was quarantining, a whopping 64 million households tuned into to watch Instagram model Francesca Farago and Harry Jowsey overcome their struggles as hot, uncommitted individuals and come together to make one hot, kind of committed couple.
Out of the entire cast, Francesca and Harry were the only pairing to survive after the show wrapped — which they made very clear via Instagram. Harry even proposed with a Ring Pop to Francesca on the “Too Hot to Handle” reunion.

But then on June 16, Francesca uploaded a teary video to YouTube titled “Our Break Up,” and explained that Harry broke up with her because he couldn’t do long-distance anymore.
Francesca lives in Vancouver, while Harry lives in Los Angeles.
“I obviously was heartbroken,” Francesca said in the video. “I did everything I could. I got to LA — I was there for business — but I got there and I was just trying to work it out with him and it didn’t happen.”
Apparently Harry wanted to keep the breakup under wraps to avoid confronting some rumors that were circulating about him, although Francesca didn’t specify what they were.
“There were a lot of rumors that came up that turned out to be true and I was getting sent a lot of screenshots and messages,” she said.
Francesca explained she went forward with filming the video because “for mental health reasons” she could not keep continuing like nothing was wrong and that the relationship was fine. For the most part, she seemed shocked about the breakup and clearly wasn’t as bothered by the distance as Harry was, which made her skeptical about the whole relationship.
“I didn’t want to believe it because how could you have a wedding ring folder with someone and how could you propose to someone but you’re also saying ‘I can’t be with you because of the distance’? It makes me feel like I was being played.”
Francesca also apologized to fans — particularly those who run fan accounts dedicated to her and Harry’s relationship. She also explained that they didn’t announce the breakup earlier because she thought it was a temporary break caused by a minor fight.
“I was just wrong. He was not the person for me,” she said.
The comments on the video swayed in Francesca’s favor and several people accused Harry of using Francesca for fame.
“I knew he wasn’t right for you when he lied in too hot to handle about the kiss,” one person replied, referencing the couple’s first fight on the Netflix show over Harry lying about Francesca initiating their first kiss and thus breaking a rule of the show.
“I feel like he fell in love with the fame that came with the show and is now losing himself in the LA celebrity life,” another posted.
“He acted like a silly 15-year-old teenager, full of himself from the beginning of the show,” someone else wrote. “Just showing off, lying, laughing, I never understood how come everyone loved him so much. He needs to grow up and take responsibility.”
For now, Harry hasn’t officially responded to the video but did post on his Instagram Stories that he was planning on being “100% open and honest” about the breakup. Another Story suggested that the only reason why he was coming out to talk about it was that he thought it was turning “into a reason to publicly beat down on someone.”
