The Fourth and Final Season of ‘The Durrells in Corfu’ Is Coming to PBS This Fall

Parasols and sun hats at the ready! A new season of The Durrells in Corfu is headed to PBS this fall. It will be the fourth season of the popular show, and it will also be the last. Over the past three seasons, we’ve learned that while the landscape is idyllic, it’s never truly smooth sailing in Corfu, at least not when the Durrells are involved. In true series fashion, the final season promises plenty of funny family dramas and an abundance of sunny coastal vistas. Watch the teaser trailer below for a first glimpse at the upcoming episodes.

When the final season of The Durrells in Corfu arrives on Masterpiece on PBS this fall, it will bring with it many familiar faces, including, of course, Keeley Hawes (Upstairs Downstairs), the matriarch of the Durrell family. She stars, as PBS describes, “as an intrepid widow who decamps from dreary England to a sun-dappled Greek island with her four recalcitrant children, ages 11 to 21, on this adaptation of Gerald Durrell’s My Family and Other Animals and its two sequels.”

She’s not alone in Corfu. PBS summarizes, “Alongside Hawes’ matriarch Louisa Durrell are eldest son, Larry (Josh O’Connor), a budding writer on his way to becoming the famous novelist Lawrence Durrell; son number two, Leslie (Callum Woodhouse), an impulsive firearms enthusiast; daughter Margo (Daisy Waterstone), sixteen and man-crazy; and eleven-year-old Gerry (Milo Parker), who only has eyes for wildlife and grew up to be a world-renowned naturalist.” The new season will bring fresh adventures and misadventures on the island.

The final season of The Durrells in Corfu will premiere on Sunday, September 29 at 8/7 c on Masterpiece on PBS. Learn more about the show and the rest of the fall PBS lineup at pbs.org.
