Earmuffs may not always be the first cold-weather accessory that you find yourself reaching for when temperatures drop, but they definitely should be. Not only are they our favorite way to keep our ears warm when we’re braving the cold, but they also add a little pizzazz to our winter outfits by dressing up our basic puffer jackets in lieu of that run-of-the-mill beanie.

Take it from us, don't leave your ears out in the cold this winter! Ears, being mostly made of cartilage with little fat, are one of the first parts of your body to get cold; they also have nerve endings that register pain from the cold way faster than other body parts. That said, earmuffs help keep your ears not only warm, toasty, and comfortable in colder weather, but they also leave the top of your head free for other hairstyles. Plus, they don’t mess up your hair the same way that hats do (bye-bye, hat hair!).
