Former McDonald’s employee becomes online hero after extra nugget confession
A former McDonald’s worker who confessed to a simple act of kindness is being praised as “The Robin Hood of McNuggets” on social media.
Last week, Cody Bondarchuk posted on Twitter that for the two and a half years he worked at McDonald’s, he put 11 nuggets in almost every 10-piece order he made. His post has received nearly 900,000 likes and 80,000 retweets as of Tuesday.
I worked at McDonald’s for two and a half years and I put 11 nuggets in almost every 10-piece I made

Bondarchuk, who is from Edmonton, worked at the fast-food chain as a teenager. He said the McDonald’s location he worked at was mostly drive-thru so he didn’t interact much with customers. He added, “I’d like to imagine they went home, saw the extra nug, and smiled a little.”
Even if Bondarchuk didn’t see people’s reaction back then, he’s sure to feel the love through social media now. People have been thanking him for his contribution and replying with messages like, “not all heroes wear capes, just name tags” and “we don’t deserve you.”
The nuggets hero calculated that he owes Ronald about $1,600 when asked by one Twitter user, “is there a statute of limitations on grand-theft-nuggets?”
Bondarchuk’s post inspired other workers in the service industry to share their own stories of kindness towards customers.
Glad I’m not the only one that done this. If you got 11 or 12 nuggets in your 10 piece from Burnsville McDonalds from January 2017-March 2018 then it was probably me lmao https://t.co/AlfQpF94yv

As a former Tim Hortons employee, the same rule always applied to boxes of Timbits (unless they were rude!) https://t.co/ilrdO4yZj4

I did a similar! McDonald’s milkshakes were sposed to weigh exactly 10 3/4 oz. I made some of them 11-12 oz because I’m that kinda girl

At McDs, I used to reward customers with extras based on their patience + during busy lunchtime hours 😅🍟🍔 pic.twitter.com/N0WRSUspGG

Commenting on how viral his tweet went, Bondarchuk posted: “I underestimated the world’s love of both nuggets and free stuff.” According to Twitter, he’s a “political boy” and hosts a podcast, but he’s also proudly added “The Robin Hood of McNuggets” to his bio.
