After splitting with her boyfriend of 14 years, "Semi-Homemade" chef Sandra Lee has made living her best life a priority. For the Food Network star, that means fulfilling her lifelong dream of owning a beachfront home in Malibu.

Variety reported that Sandra recently scooped up a two-bedroom oceanside property for $3.38 million. Sandra will have her chance to leave her personal touch on the 1,719-square foot house, which will require "some major upgrades" after being owned by the same family for more than five decades, according to the outlet.

As it turns out, Sandra's goal of owning her very own place in Malibu was first born in Los Angeles during her early years in the restaurant industry when she still dreamed of making it big.

“When I was younger I was a waitress at the Malibu Adobe,” Sandra recently told PEOPLE: "My sister Kimber and I picked out houses on the Pacific Coast Highway, and I promised myself that if I ever made it, I would go back and buy myself a house on the water."

Though Abode has since been marked closed on Yelp, it was once dubbed a restaurant "where the stars come out" by The Los Angeles Times. In 1987, its menu included soft tacos filled with marinated beef strips and whole wheat quesadillas stuffed with shiitake mushrooms and Sonoma goat cheese, according to the paper.

Sandra moved back to the West Coast after splitting with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, and the celebrity chef has wasted no time is using the opportunity as a way to finally cash in on dreams deferred.

“What I believe more than anything is living just an OK life is not OK," she said to PEOPLE. "We should all live our best lives together. Malibu is just that for me."
