Tennessee lost for the third time in four games to South Carolina last week to drop to 3-3 overall and 0-3 in SEC play. To make matters worse, the Vols travel to Tuscaloosa to face No. 1 Alabama this weekend.

Needless to say, fan sentiment for head coach Butch Jones is not very good, and that distaste for Jones is manifesting in some wacky ways. Take this Food Lion near Chattanooga for example, where somebody in the bakery got creative:

Yikes.

The last cake references the “brick by brick” mantra Jones often preaches.

From the Knoxville News Sentinel:

“I was on the phone one day and I was watching them lay the foundation, the brick of the steps outside my office, and I was watching the diligence that goes into laying the brick and I thought it’s the foundation and we are going to build a foundation that can stand the test of time, that can weather adversity. And if one brick is out of place and if one brick is missing, you are not going to have a strong foundation and it doesn’t look right,” Jones said.

“Every brick is symbolic of every person within our football program. That’s why we still give bricks out when we start training camp with a brick-by-brick mentality. That is where that was born and then it kind of was confirmed when I was talking to (ESPN analyst and former NFL coach) Jon Gruden and he said, ‘Hey brother, just lay it brick by brick.’ So that kind of was confirmation on how we are going to build this football program.”

Since Nick Saban took over at Alabama, he is 10-0 against Tennessee, including 4-0 against Jones. Alabama has won those games by an average of 23.25 points per game, including last year’s 49-10 romp.

Yeah, that cake is pretty accurate.
