Fly-in breakfast comes to Wellsboro on Memorial Day weekend

WELLSBORO, Pa. (WETM) – A fly-in and breakfast will be taking place on Memorial Day weekend at the Grand Canyon Regional Airport in Wellsboro.

The breakfast will take place rain or shine at the corporate hangar at the airport on Sunday, May 26, from 8 a.m. to noon at the airport located at 112 Runway Road. To attend the event, a $10 donation is requested for adults and $5 for kids. Children who are 2 and under can get in for free.

Parking for the event will be free and handicapped parking will be available. Items that will be served for breakfast include ham, eggs, buckwheat pancakes, coffee and orange juice.

In addition to breakfast, pilots will be flying to the airport, if weather allows, in different types of full-size aircraft for the public to watch land. Pilots will also be available to talk with attendees about their planes during breakfast.

Airplane rides will also be available for a fee, weather permitting.

Members from the Canyon Country Ultralight Club will help with the breakfast and have ultralight aircraft on display. The Mountain Modelaires will also display radio-controlled model aircraft next to the corporate hangar during the event.
