For fitness instructor Megan Roup, wellness isn’t merely about how you move your body. Though an integral part of her platform, it is just one piece of a much larger health routine.
That’s why, rather than just sharing workouts and physical health-oriented tips on her platform, The Sculpt Society, or her social media accounts, she likewise shares tidbits for bolstering mental wellness. Part of that, according to Roup, is learning how to set and achieve goals. But she recognizes that there will be times when moving toward those milestones is harder than others.
The mom of two took to her TikTok recently to share her tried-and-true method for moving forward when you’re feeling stuck. For her, the key is recognizing how far you’ve come. Her practical suggestion is this:
“grab a pen and paper. write down everything you’ve accomplished in the last six months. include big and small milestones. then take a moment to appreciate how far you’ve come,” she wrote in the short clip.
Not only will this help you move forward, but it is also “such a simple way to practice gratitude,” Roup said.
“Sometimes we get so stuck in the details of our day to day that we forget to take a step back and acknowledge the progress we’ve made,” she said in the caption. During those moments, take the fitness instructor’s advice and take some time to reflect and truly appreciate your progress thus far.
