From The Pioneer Woman

Forget Emily in Paris. We want Lupin in the Louvre! Thankfully, the gentleman thief is (almost) back. Lupin part 2 is coming to Netflix sooner than we thought, and obviously this news is très bien.

The stylish French caper show became an instant surprise hit when part 1 premiered on Netflix on January 8, 2021. Now, this was only two weeks after Bridgerton hit Netflix and we were all driven to distraction by the Duke of Hastings, so we'll forgive you if you missed Lupin.

Here's what you need to know: This fast-paced mystery thriller stars the unbearably charming Omar Sy as Assane Diop, a man seeking to avenge his father's death. He's taking a page or two from master thief Arsène Lupin, a fictional character created by the (real-life) French author Maurice Leblanc in the early 1900s. Assane always seems two steps ahead of his enemies, but part 1's cliffhanger finale left us worried that he might be beaten at his own game.

For those who have already binge-watched part 1, you won't have to wait much longer for new episodes. Read on for everything we know about part 2, including updates on the release date, spoilers, cast news, and more.

Is there a trailer for "Lupin" part 2?

The first trailer for Lupin is finally here!

In the short clip, we see that Hubert Pellegrini (Hervé Pierre), the diabolical businessman man who framed Assane's late father, has now abducted his son, Raoul, and plans to use him as bait to capture our hero.

We have chills just thinking about Assane's son in the clutches of this monster. But Pellegrini is clearly messing with the wrong man, because Assane vows, "If you touch my son, I'll kill you." Yikes!

When is "Lupin" season 2 coming out?

To clarify, season 1 of Lupin consists of 10 episodes in two parts, including five episodes in the previously released part 1, and five episodes in the upcoming part 2. All of the episodes have already been filmed, and according to the new trailer, Lupin part 2 is due out in summer 2021.

Unfortunately, the official premiere date has not been released yet, but you can bet we'll be checking up on that a lot in the months to come so we can update our calendars accordingly. And as far as a true season 2 goes, we'll keep ya posted!

Is the original cast of "Lupin" returning?

Yes! In the trailer, we see plenty of familiar faces from part 1, including Pellegrini, his daughter and Assane's one-time love interest, Juliette (Clotilde Hesme), Assane's ex-girlfriend Claire (Ludivine Sagnier), their son, Raoul (Etan Simon), and more.

It's possible there will be some new characters, too, but if so, we haven't met them yet. Either way, we can't wait to see what's in store for Assane in part 2. How about you? Have you watched Lupin? Share your thoughts in the comments!
