First Rihanna, Now This Estonian Rapper Is Wearing Fashion’s Most Outrageous Thigh-High Boot

He knows how to stay warm.

From the moment they hit the runway in March, Y/Project’s thigh-high Uggs caused quite a stir, sending viral shockwaves reverberating through social media. The outrageously cozy boot has since gained major star power. An early-adopter of just about every wild fashion trend, Rihanna was the first to wear a pair (she opted for the heeled version) back in April at Coachella. Dua Lipa, a fashion risk-taker in her own right, wasn’t too far behind. And now Estonian rapper Tommy Cash is the latest to give the thigh-high Ugg a whirl… well, sort of. Today the entertainer posted a superposed image of himself against a sweeping south-western landscape, wearing what appears to be a photoshop hybrid of the boots which come in three different styles: heeled, triple turn-over, and regular thigh-high. Leaning into the western theme, Cash sported the tiered boots with a fringed leather jacket and classic skyblue jeans.

The rapper has been having a bit of a fashion moment lately. Launched in this past January, “Kanye East,” his merch collection, takes cues from Russian textile motifs and includes ironic spins on the traditional East European bazaar bag and a soccer scarf emblazoned with the rapper’s name in Cyrillic. His kitschy post-Soviet style has even captured the imagination of designers over in Paris, including Rick Owens, who invited Cash to walk in his Spring 2019 men’s show earlier this year. Given his new found fashion stardom, there’s no telling what other crazy style tricks the rapper will pull out of his hat next.
