Here’s Your First Look at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Gorgeous Wedding Invitations

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are busy finalizing their fast-approaching May 19 wedding. They recently revealed the details of their spring-inspired cake, and now, Kensington Palace has shared a look at the beautiful invitations, which have just been sent out.

“The invitations follow many years of Royal tradition and have been made by Barnard and Westwood,” the Palace tweeted, noting that the printing house has been making royal invitations since 1985. “They feature the Three-Feathered Badge of the Prince of Wales printed in gold ink.”

The rest of the invitation is printed in black ink, then “burnished to bring out the shine, and gilded around the edge.” The Palace also noted that the ink is American, and the card stock is English — a likely nod to both Markle, who is from the US, and her British husband-to-be.

“Lottie Small, who recently completed her apprenticeship [at Barnard and Westwood], printed all of the invitations in a process known as die stamping,” Kensington Palace explained. They were made on a machine that dates back to the 1930s and which Small has “affectionately” nicknamed Maude.

“Guests have been invited to the service at St George’s Chapel and to the lunchtime reception at St George’s Hall, which is being given by Her Majesty The Queen,” the Palace noted. Following the reception, approximately 200 guests will attend a reception at Frogmore House, hosted by the father of the groom, Prince Charles.

As previously announced, Prince Harry and Markle have also invited 2,640 members of the public to watch the bride and groom’s arrival at Windsor Castle on their wedding day. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds will then take a horse-drawn carriage ride through the streets of Windsor to celebrate with the public.
