Detective Benoit Blanc is back.

Today, Netflix released a first look at the upcoming follow-up to the megahit murder mystery Knives Out, giving a glimpse at the highly anticipated sequel's star-studded cast. In a new still from the film, Benoit Blanc (portrayed by Daniel Craig) is joined by a slew of new actors including Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, and Leslie Odom Jr.

The original film, which starred Craig alongside Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ana de Armas, and others, was a runaway hit, earning more than $311 million since its initial release. It also was nominated for a number of awards including Best Original Screenplay at the 2020 Academy Awards and three Golden Globes—not to mention, it has eternally blessed us with Chris Evans wearing the world's most perfect cable-knit sweater onscreen.

So what's in store for the upcoming sequel? Here's everything we know so far.

The next film is titled Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

"When I made Knives Out, that's what excited me about the prospect of making more mysteries with Daniel as Benoit Blanc - to emulate Christie and have every film be like a whole new book, with its own tone, ambition, reason for being… and (ta dah) title," the film's writer and director, Rian Johnson, shared in a tweet revealing the new film's official name. "Benoit Blanc's next case, the follow up to Knives Out, is called GLASS ONION."

When will Glass Onion be released?

The film will be released December 23 on Netflix and will also be in select theaters.

Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista are all set to star in the upcoming sequel.

"You try and invite people that you like," Johnson said about the film's casting, comparing it to planning a proper dinner party invite list. "But the reality is you never know. At the end of the day, just trying to get the best actors in each part, the actors that are most right for each individual part. So, you also just throw the dice and hold your breath. Luckily, we got a great group that really meshed."

What is Glass Onion about?

Per Tudum, the sequel follows a lavish international dinner party gone awry. The official synopsis reads, "A tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) invites some of his nearest and dearest for a getaway on his private Greek island, it soon becomes clear that all is not perfect in paradise. And when someone turns up dead, well, who better than Blanc to peel back the layers of intrigue?"

Viewers will get to know Benoit Blanc a bit better.

Whereas Ana de Armas was the leading protagonist in the original film, the sequel will have a bigger focus on Craig's character of Benoit Blanc.

"Blanc was always outside of the sphere of our protagonist and was a little bit more of an enigma in the first movie. Whereas, in this one, Blanc gets an invitation to come to this murder mystery on this island," Johnson added. "We're very much meeting these people and getting into this world through his eyes."

A new clip shows the beginnings of the mystery.

Netflix has released an exclusive clip for the film, which shows the new characters (played by Odom, Jr., Bautista, Hudson, and Hahn) solving an intricate puzzle box sent by Miles. Once they crack the code, their old friend invites them on a reunion cruise where they'll compete to solve the mystery of his murder.
