Not only will fans get the chance to see the show, a new documentary is coming out called Hamilton In-Depth With Kelley Carter, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"The cast and creative team will explore a wide range of topics, from the origin story of Hamilton; the Pulitzer-Prize winning musical's earliest stages of development; their special connection to the show's story, characters, imagery, and music; the show's significance as a ground-breaking pop culture phenomenon; and what the Hamilton story means in the context of ongoing conversations about systemic racism and social injustice," Entertainment Weekly reports. "They'll also discuss the origins of and their hopes for the filmed version of the show."

Fans will also get the chance to watch the show alongside the original cast thanks to a fun Twitter party they're throwing for the occasion. Luckily, the wait is almost over! The film is currently set to be released on July 3, 2020 at 12 AM PT. The film was originally going to be released in theaters on October 15, 2021, however, it was pushed up due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There's no word if the movie will be released on the big screen for non-Disney+ subscribers.

Is there a trailer?

The Hamilton trailer was released during the 2020 Espys and it gave fans a glimpse of what they can expect when the movie is released.

Is it a Hamilton movie or a live recording of the musical?

The film is not an adaptation of the musical, but the actual musical recorded live from the Richard Rodgers Theater featuring the original Broadway cast. According to Lin-Manuel Miranda, the show was actually recorded over three days, with some of the recordings featuring an audience over two official performances. Closer shots were recorded without an audience so they could have as many angles as possible.

Will there be any changes between the recorded version and the original version?

The film was given a PG-13 rating for language and some suggestive material by the Motion Picture Association of America. Several songs in the show do include expletives and would normally get an R-rating. There's a good chance that some of these words will be cut out of the release in order to keep it at a PG-13 rating.
