The First Full-Length Downton Abbey Movie Trailer Is Here!

The countdown to the Downton Abbey movie is on. We saw the teaser trailer a few months ago, and now the first official full-length trailer for the film has arrived. That means it’s time to dive back into the world we’ve come to know and love over the series’ six seasons.

In the trailer, we see many familiar faces, including Hugh Bonneville as the Earl of Grantham, Elizabeth McGovern as Cora Crawley, Michelle Dockery as Lady Mary, Joanne Froggatt as Anna Bates, Allen Leech as Branson, Jim Carter as Carson, and, perhaps most exciting of all, Dame Maggie Smith as Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham.

As the trailer begins, Hugh Bonneville’s Earl of Grantham exclaims, “No maid, no valet, no nanny, even!” We learn that it’s 1927, and things around the English country house have changed. There are some changes to the cast, too, as the film is set to bring several new faces into the world of Downton Abbey. With the arrival of an envelope, the central event of the film becomes clear: The King and Queen are coming! Everyone in the Downton orbit must then come together to ready the property for the royal arrival.

You can join in the celebration when the Downton Abbey film arrives on September 20, 2019.
