Fired FBI Director James Comey Talks Donald Trump Pee Tape Report On ABC
Fired FBI Director James Comey dished on Donald Trump’s alleged infamous Pee Tape on Good Morning America this morning,
“Honestly I never thought these words would come out of my mouth but I don’t know whether the current President of the United States was with prostitutes peeing on each other in Moscow in 2013. It’s possible, but I don’t know,” Comey said on the ABC News program of the infamous Pee Tape dossier, in an excerpt of a much longer interview that was shown this morning.
Comey is an “untruthful slimeball” Trump tweeted in response, taking the bait and forcing his communications staff to respond to Comey’s book, which the White House previously indicated it would not lower itself to address.
Trump told him he might want the FBI to investigate the infamous Pee Tape report – in order to set First Lady Melania Trump’s mind at ease.
ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos landed the first interview with Comey, who was fired by Trump, about his new book A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership, which is out on Tuesday. The interview will air Sunday on 20/20.
Comey first told Trump about the dossier at a January 6, 2017, meeting at Trump Tower in New York, during a private, one-on-one conversation after a group of intelligence agency leaders had presented the president-elect with information about how the Russians had interfered with the 2016 election.
“I started to tell him the allegation was he was involved with prostitutes in a hotel in Moscow in 2013, during a visit for the Miss Universe Pageant. And that the Russians had filmed the episode. He interrupted defensively and said ‘Do I look like a guy who needs hookers?’ ” Comey said.
Trump appeared less concerned by the attack, Comey said, than by how it could undermine his victory.
“President-elect Trump’s first question was to confirm that it had no impact on the election,” Comey told Stephanopoulos in an hours-long interview taped earlier, portions of which aired on GMA.
“And then the conversation, to my surprise, moved into a PR conversation about how the Trump team would position this, and what they could say about this, with us still sitting there. And the reason that was so striking to me [is] that’s just not done. That the intelligence community does intelligence, the White House does PR and spin.”
At a later, private, one-on-one dinner with Trump on January 27, 2017, Trump brought up the dossier, Comey said. Trump told him “he may want me to investigate it to prove that it didn’t happen. And then he says something that distracted me because he said, you know, ‘If there’s even a 1% chance my wife thinks that’s true, that’s terrible.’”
“‘And I remember thinking, ‘How could your wife think there’s a 1 percent chance you were with prostitutes peeing on each other in Moscow?’ I’m a flawed human being, but there is literally zero chance that my wife would think that was true. So, what kind of marriage to what kind of man does your wife think there’s only a 99 percent chance you didn’t do that?”
Comey called the whole Pee Tape interaction “really weird,” describing it as an “out of body experience.”
