I Finally Went on a Real Vacation, and I Think These Were My 5 Best Looks

·3 min read

Welcome to Weekday Wardrobe, a series in which one Who What Wear editor or staffer will snap a pic of the outfits they wear from Monday to Friday. We'll break down where you can shop it all to inspire your own everyday style, no matter what's on your weekly agenda.

Last month, I went on a beach vacation with my friends to Mexico, and to say the trip was epic would be quite an understatement. It was the first time I traveled out of the country in well over a year (I took every recommended precaution), and it was truly so special and fun. I honestly forgot what it felt like to be on a vacation let alone how to pack for one. I stared at my closet for days considering every possible outfit option and finally decided to just bring them all. I can't be the only one who's like this, right?

I have no regrets about my terrible decision-making skills when it comes to packing because I ended up wearing some very cute 'fits all week long. I think these five looks were my best, but I'll let you be the judge.

MONDAY

It's no surprise I packed plenty of bikinis for this trip, so naturally, I put one on within minutes of arriving at the house my friends and I rented. I love the way this head-to-toe pink-and-orange look came together—sarong, hair scrunchie, and bracelets included.

Feline Swim Sirene Top ($79)

Shop the matching Bella Bottom ($69).

437 The Sarong in Flora ($40)

Kenneth Cole Mello Slide Sandal ($45)

Shashi Baltic Necklace ($55)

Roxanne Assoulin Colour Therapy Bracelets ($150)

Free People Super Satin Scrunchie ($12)

TUESDAY

Linen is my best friend when in a warm destination, and it should be yours, too. This day was particularly hot, so I went with a linen cropped tie top and matching shorts. A few key accessories like anklets, sunglasses, and a headscarf turned this otherwise simple 'fit into a vacation-worthy one. And yes, this is the view from the house. I couldn't believe it either!

Reformation Arancini Linen Top ($148)

Mango Linen Shorts With Drawstring Waist ($30)

Italic Hancock Round Sunglasses ($30)

Price does not include Italic membership cost.

Emilio Pucci Psychedelic-Style Patterned Scarf ($316)

Kenneth Cole Nova Quilted Slide ($75)

Na Handmade Boho Elastic Beaded Ankle Bracelets Set ($11)

WEDNESDAY

A boat day is the perfect opportunity to wear a full look, so that's exactly what I did. This is the first summer I started purchasing cover-ups that match my bikinis, and I don't think I will ever go back.

WeWoreWhat Dad Shirt ($125)

WeWoreWhat Ruched Underwire Bikini Top ($95)

WeWoreWhat Ruched String Bikini Bottom ($95)

Boutiquelovin Paperclip Chain Necklace ($14)

Warby Parker Garrison ($195)

THURSDAY

I've been really committing to the crochet trend this summer. The material is so summery and beachy and makes you feel like you're on a vacation even if you're not. This crochet dress gets bonus points for the cutouts, but who's counting?

Cult Gaia Tyra Cutout Crochet-Knit Maxi Dress ($498)

Mejuri Dome Hoops ($60)

Argento Vivo Sterling Silver Herringbone Chain Necklace ($50)

Jeffrey Campbell Jamm-3 Slide Sandal ($50)

FRIDAY

Surprise, more crochet! I received more compliments from strangers on this one look than I probably have on any outfit in the past year. While I love the bright-green bucket hat, I think it's the checkered crochet shorts that really draw people in. I've worn them with an oversize button-down not on vacation, and it's an equally cool look.

Eres Misses Triangle ($265)

Shop the matching Eres Mrs Bikini Bottoms ($265).

Frankies Bikinis Coco Crochet Shorts ($105)

Lack of Color Wave Bucket Hat ($99)

Adinas Jewels Colored Enamel Rope Chain Necklace ($48)
