While there’s so many Easter egg details and mind-blowing events to discuss as we wait for the next MCU movie installment, one of the biggest (and most controversial) moments certainly was the appearance of the Illuminati. These were the protectors of the multiverse who Dr. Strange and America Chavez found themselves in the presence of halfway through the movie.

The mysterious counsel was already stacked, with the likes of Professor X (who was revealed in the movie’s trailer) and Mordo (who was speculated by fans to make an appearance in this film), but the biggest names were saved for the movie’s premiere! The rest of the Illuminati was rounded out by Reed Richards (played by John Krasinski, making his debut in the MCU), Peggy Carter as Captain Carter, Maria Rambeau as Captain Marvel, and Black Bolt.
