The royal family has quite the list of protocols when it comes to beauty. One royal — well, ex-royal — who's notorious for bending the rules is Meghan Markle. You may remember when Markle wore messy buns or the time she wore blue jeans — these are all examples of times she "broke protocol" as a royal. However, on her wedding day, however, she stuck to the rulebook with her manicure.
One of the big unspoken beauty rules within the royal family is their nail polish colors are supposed to be light, sheer, and neutral. Markle did just that on her big day. While most people speculated that she wore the Queen's favorite (and Allure Reader's Choice Award winner) Essie's Ballet Slippers, finally, after two years, we know exactly what polish shades she wore on her big day.
The two colors she opted for was one layer of Unmasked (a baby pink) followed by two coats of Negligee (a pale, almost white pink) on top. And for her toes, Markle chose Cashmere Wrap, a pink-nude shade also by CND Shellac. The Duchess chose to get a gel manicure, which makes sense — God forbid she had a chip in her polish.
Prior to this news, we beauty editors were determined to figure out the exact hue and even started to guess what color it could have been once photos of the wedding were released to the public.
