A 25-year-old female cab driver in New York City has been arrested and charged with assault after a violent road rage incident occurred involving a family in Midtown Manhattan on Thursday afternoon.

Alyssa Jenna Mallett, who according to the New York Post has had her license for 14 months, was driving her taxi when a Nissan SUV possibly cut her off. The young woman then exited her vehicle and confronted the driver, a 24-year-old man. Inside the car was a 22-year-old passenger, an 11-year-old girl, and a 2-week-old baby girl.

A bystander filmed the incident.

Mallett, according to police, punched, bit, and scratched the male, and punched and pulled the hair of the female passenger. People passing by attempted to break up the brawl. According to ABC 7, the cab driver returned to her vehicle and then rammed the Nissan, which still had the children inside. In an attempt to flee the scene, Mallett hit two other unattended cars and an unattended UPS truck.

Mallett was arrested at the scene. She has been charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, and assault. Her TLC license is currently suspended, pending the outcome of the case, according to TLC. On top of this assault, her license may be revoked due to a separate incident for refusal of service and overcharging passengers.

The couple involved in the fight was not charged.
