Here’s How Your Favorite Grocery Store’s Hours Might Change During the Coronavirus Quarantine

As millions stock up for weeks under self-quarantine or make quick runs to replenish their snack stash, grocery stores around the country are putting in even more effort to keep their business stocked and safe. In addition to setting aside designated shopping times for more at-risk customers, like seniors-only hours, grocery stores are stepping up their sanitation and restocking efforts, leading to adjusted store hours.

Of course, these are good things, but venturing out to grab more food won’t end well if you reach your destination only to find locked doors. If you’re at high risk or live with someone at high risk, consider using a delivery service—many services have implemented discounted or free delivery and have rolled out no-contact delivery.

See what steps your favorite store is taking to prevent the spread of coronavirus:

ALDI: As of Monday, March 16, ALDI stores across the country will be open from 9:00am to 7:00pm. Some stores will have limited hours to accommodate cleaning and restocking according to a press release. For more information, check with your local store.

Costco: As of right now, Costco warehouses have not adjusted their shopping hours. However, they have increased cleaning protocols and placed limits on high-demand items.

Harris Teeter: All Harris Teeter stores will close at 9:00pm daily. Check with your local store for opening hours.

Kroger: Kroger stores are adjusting hours based on local circumstances. ‘We will continue to make decisions that allow us to operate clean, open and stocked stores to serve our customers and support our associates,” they said in an update. Check with your local store for the most accurate information. View the list of grocery chains Kroger owns and operates here.

Walmart: Walmart has begun to implement reduced hours. According to MarketWatch, 2,200 stores will be open from 6:00am to 11:00pm. Any stores that implemented reduced hours prior to Sunday, March 15, will continue to do so.
