Father Bill's returns to hosting in-person Thanksgiving dinner for all in Quincy, Brockton

QUINCY − Father Bill’s & MainSpring will usher in the return of its in-person Thanksgiving dinners in Quincy and Brockton for anyone looking for somewhere to go this holiday season. It will be the first group dinner held on the holiday in three years.

Father Bill's, which runs Quincy's only homeless shelter, will host its community meal in Quincy from noon to 2 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 12 Quincy Ave. The meal didn't happen in 2020 and, last year, was scaled back with staggered seatings to keep crowds small due to the pandemic.

The nonprofit is also hosting a Community Meal in Brockton, and between both sites the agency expects to provide more than 1,400 Thanksgiving dinners, the largest single-day meal total in the agency’s history. Father Bill's has launched its Thanksgiving Fund to help cover the added costs of providing meals and supplies. Donations can be made at helpfbms.org/thanksgivingfund.
