Farsáli Is Launching Skintune, a Blurring Primer That Is Literally Facetune in a Bottle

From the makers of Unicorn Essence.

No matter how deftly you conceal and contour, nothing gets skin looking quite as flawless as a good filter — which is why beauty brands have been racing to create formulas that create the same blurring, perfecting, touched by Beyoncé-like effects IRL. Farsáli, the brand behind the viral Jelly Beam highlighter, just announced a new serum-meets-primer on its Instagram stories. Skintune Perfecting Primer Serum, which will drop in Sephora stores and on Farsáli.com on September 6, promises to filter your face IRL (without leaving you looking like Newt Gingrich).

It’s the latest in a line of similar formulas that have dropped this year — much like ColourPop’s No Filter Foundation and Charlotte Tilbury’s already legendary Flawless Filter — to help achieve the kind of soft-focus effect that makes you look as though you’re walking around with a professional lighting team.

According to Farsáli, the key to Skintune’s it-could-only-happen-on-Snapchat finish is the combination of a hydrating lightweight formula (packed with conditioning and soothing ingredients) with a blurring powder finish — Insta magic. The price tag on the soon-to-drop serum is steep, $54 for a 30mL bottle. But the brand claims it has several uses: as a basic primer under foundation, as a foundation mix-in to create more of a blurred effect, or alone as a serum.

Perhaps the most exciting part of the new formula (which is also vegan and cruelty-free) is in Skintune’s ingredient list. The serum contains vitamin C, which means that while it’s perfecting skin in real-time, it’s also brightening and evening your skin tone over time, making it part of a growing makeup-as-skincare family.

If Farsáli’s track record is any indication, Skintune will disappear quicker than a Snapchat video, so mark your calendar.
