FAO Schwarz Launches Toy Collection at Target—Complete with an Iconic Giant Piano Mat for Your Dancing Feet

If you ever visited FAO Schwartz in New York City or watched the 1988 film Big starring Tom Hanks, you're likely familiar with the giant dance-on piano. At the NYC flagship location that shuttered a few years back (there's now a new outpost in Rockefeller Center), you'd walk past the security guards dressed in buttoned-up red toy soldier uniforms, breathlessly head to the escalator, and then arrive at the sprawling piano, the windows beside it allowing light to cascade on you and your finest sneaks with a heavenly aura. Time to get tapping.

Well, friends, it's time to bring some of that magic home with you. Just in time for this holiday season, FAO Schwarz has teamed up with Target to create an exclusive 70-piece toy collection available at FAO Schwarz, Target stores nationwide, and online at Target.com and FAOSchwarz.com.

“FAO is excited to bring our toy legacy to Target, a leading toy destination and a company known for partnering with top brands for industry firsts,” said David Niggli, FAO Schwarz chief merchandising officer in a company press release. “At a time when many people are not able to travel to our flagship store in New York City, this collaboration allows us to bring the wonder of FAO to Target guests nationwide.”

Of course, the famed dance-on piano mat will be among the offerings, a 69-inch version for $39.99, which kids and kids at heart are sure to enjoy for hours on end. Other highlights in the lineup include Ryan's World RC Motorhead Swap & Win Racer ($39.99), the New Seasons Wooden Dollhouse ($54.99), and Brain Benders ($9.99). There's also plenty of holiday ornaments, classic children's books like The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, The Complete Sherlock Holmes, and The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, and a toy train set ($24.99).
