Fans Were Both Amazed and Worried for Kelly Ripa After She Did a Split on Instagram
Kelly Ripa is showing off her dance moves for a great cause.
On Tuesday, the Live With Kelly and Ryan cohost joined her friend Isaac Boots in his effort to raise funds for his Dance + Donate Challenge benefitting NYU Langone Health. Formally known as Isaac Calpito, the celebrity trainer and choreographer is using the power of community and dance to raise money to “develop innovative Wellness & Resiliency programming” for nurses and healthcare workers to give them the support they need.
In a one-minute IGTV post, set to the campaign’s official anthem, Steph Amoroso’s song “Electric Light,” Kelly counts down to the beat of the music and begins dancing. She adds a little flair to her routine by using two hand fans as props. What’s more, she ends it with a split.
“A lightly edited choreo moment,” Kelly wrote on Instagram. “Because @isaacboots is a do gooder let’s help him say thank you to the hero nurses and front line hospital workers in association with NYU Langone. #danceanddonatechallenge.”
After watching Kelly’s dance number, Isaac shared how appreciative he was: “I am crying 😭 LOVE YOU, Kell. Beyond ❤️❤️.” It sounds like Kelly’s husband of 25 years, Mark Consuelos, was also impressed. “Splits!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️,” he wrote.
Fans couldn’t get enough of the 50-year-old TV personality showing off her dance skills and finishing it in the most memorable way. “Love the fans and then she did the splits, this is everything 👏❤️😍,” one person wrote. “Just a FULL SPLIT! 👏👏Queen!!! ❤️🔥,” another added. “Fans and a full split!!!!! EPIC!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥,” a different fan said. “🔥 love your energy 🙌,” a follower commented.
While many were amazed by Kelly, there were a few folks who made sure to check in on her. “What!!. How’s your back??” someone wrote. “You must have a great back doctor 👨⚕️,” another said.
Well, in case you’re still wondering, the mother of three was dancing once again the next morning on Live. Before starting the show, Kelly grooved her way on to the stage and bopped along with announcer Deja Vu.
