UPDATE: November 3, 2020Miley Cyrus has weighed in on whether or not she unfollowed a bunch of celebrities who attended Kendall Jenner’s maskless Halloween birthday party.

“Never. Followed. Any. Of. Them. To. Begin. With,” she wrote. “Let's stop talkin about who I follow on the damn gram and talk about VOTING! 1 day to go. #BidenHarris”

ORIGINAL STORY:

Miley Cyrus fans have a new theory about their fave—and it involves the backlash to Kendall Jenner’s Halloween birthday party.

In case you missed it, Jenner threw herself a soirée on October 31, despite the fact that the country is still in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. The party was inside and people were photographed without masks and with no social distancing, which caused instant internet criticism. (According to Entertainment Tonight, Jenner’s attendees had to past a rapid coronavirus test before entering the party.)

Cyrus, meanwhile, was hanging at home on Halloween, and now her fans think she’s unfollowing celebrities who went to Jenner’s party. “Every single celebrity at a halloween party after they praise about social distancing and staying home while miley cyrus was reading a book alone in bed on halloween night,” one fan tweeted, alongside a photo of Cyrus.

Guests at the event included Justin and Hailey Bieber, The Weeknd, Kylie Jenner, Saweetie, Doja Cat, and Scott Disick. Hardcore stans noticed Cyrus was not following a number of attendees as of November 1. Of course, we should note that nobody is certain Cyrus was actually following them in the first place.

Miley Cyrus wasn’t the only celebrity setting a good example by staying home and safe on Halloween night. Ariana Grande and Tinashe both also warned fans about the risks involved in going out for some fun for the night. “These lil Halloween parties are not worth getting sick for. PLEASE ... BE SAFE OUT THERE! USA hit a new record number of Covid cases in a day TODAY,” Tinashe tweeted.

Grande retweeted her and added, “This part. please dress up, take pics, but then get in your pjs and watch some scary movies. going to parties right now is unsafe and absolutely not worth it. please be safe. happy halloween everyone!”
