Happy Sour release day! Yes, today should be a holiday because after months of waiting, Olivia Rodrigo's debut album is finally here, and it's serving all the angsty breakup tracks one could ever desire. Leading the charge in that category is "Traitor," a slower jam, which fans think fits perfectly into the Joshua Bassett storyline we have been following ever since the release of "Drivers License" earlier this year. So, without further ado, let's take a look at the "Traitor" lyrics provided by Genius and see what new info we can pull in regard to this never-ending saga.

Ooh, ooh
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah

[Verse 1]
Brown guilty eyes and
Little white lies, yeah
I played dumb but I always knew
That you talked to her
Maybe did even worse
I kept quiet so I could keep you

The theme of ignoring red flags in a relationship comes up later in the album in the song "Favorite Crime" when Olivia sings, "The things I did/Just so I could call you mine."

[Pre-Chorus]
And ain't it funny how you ran to her
The second that we called it quits?

And ain't it funny how you said you were friends?
Now it sure as hell don't look like it

Fans think these lyrics reference her breakup with Joshua and his quick rebound with singer Sabrina Carpenter. There are many other songs on the album that have lyrics with similar sentiments, especially in her third single, "Good 4 U" when she sings, "Well, good for you, I guess you moved on really easily/You found a new girl and it only took a couple weeks."

[Chorus]
You betrayed me
And I know that you'll never feel sorry
For the way I hurt, yeah

This line also parallels a line in "Good 4 U": "You will never have to hurt the way you know that I do."

You talked to her when we were together
Loved you at your worst but that didn't matter
It took you two weeks to go off and date her
Guess you didn't cheat, but you're still a traitor

[Verse 2]
Now you bring her around
Just to shut me down
Show her off like she's a new trophy
And I know if you were true
There's no damn way that you
Could fall in love with somebody that quickly

[Pre-Chorus]
And ain't it funny, all the twisted games
All the questions you used to avoid?
Ain't it funny, remember I brought her up
And you told me I was paranoid?

[Chorus]
You betrayed me
And I know that you'll never feel sorry
For the way I hurt, yeah
You talked to her when we were together
Loved you at your worst but that didn't matter
It took you two weeks to go off and date her
Guess you didn't cheat, but you're still a traitor

[Bridge]
(Ah-ah-ah)
God, I wish that you had thought this through
Before I went and fell in love with you
(Ah-ah-ah)
When she's sleepin' in the bed we made
Don't you dare forget about the way
[Chorus]
You betrayed me
'Cause I know that you'll never feel sorry
For the way I hurt, yeah
You talked to her when we were together
You gave me your word but that didn't matter
It took you two weeks to go off and date her
Guess you didn't cheat, but you're still, you're still a traitor
(Ah-ah-ah)
Yeah, you're still a traitor

[Outro]
Ooh, ooh, ooh
God, I wish that you had thought this through
Before I went and fell in love with you

After listening to the song, many fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions about the track and Olivia's possible inspiration.

Meanwhile, others tried guessing what Joshua's reaction might be like to the song.

Knowing Joshua, though, he will probably support Olivia anyway as he has in the past. Look out for an Instagram Story on his behalf.
