  • Todd Chrisley, star of reality show Chrisley Knows Best, is known for having strong views about parenting, and when it comes to his granddaughter Chloe, he definitely has opinions.

So what is the appropriate age for a child to get a cell phone? According to Todd and Julie Chrisley, 7 years old is too young and 13 might be just right.

On the latest episode of Chrisley Knows Best, Todd’s 7-year-old granddaughter Chloe wants a real phone—not a toy. Todd’s response: “Ummm, let me think about it. Um, no.” Decisive, right? To the point? Definitely. But when Chloe continues to push Julie on how old she has to be to get a phone, Julie sides with her husband. “Maybe 13,” she says. “When it’s the right time, Chloe, we’ll get you a phone.”

Fans of the show chimed in with their opinions.

Clearly Chloe wasn't going to take no for an answer. She spots another opportunity in Faye, Todd’s mother, and convinces her that she needs a phone so they can call and text each other. Unaware that Todd and Julie have squashed earlier requests, Faye (lovingly known as Nanny) finds an old phone and gives it to Chloe.

Meanwhile at Todd and Julie’s house, mysterious deliveries—of the doll and dollhouse variety, as it turns out—begin to show up. After checking the order history (smart!), they discover that Faye (what?!?!) is the one who made the purchases, but on Todd’s account (noooo!). In a testimonial, Todd rants, “The kicker is that this woman is spoiling Chloe with my money!”

A Twitter fan figured it out fast!

So how does this whole story wrap up? The dollhouse is returned, Chloe wants to keep the doll so Faye lets her keep it so long as she babysits Faye's dog to repay her, and the Chrisleys are one big happy family again. Chloe confesses that she learned her lesson, as does Faye: “I learned my lesson,” she says. “If I’m gonna order my grandchildren something, I’m gonna have it sent to my house.”

No doubt there will be more life lessons during Season 8 of Chrisley Knows Best!
