Jennifer Garner just shared a new, intense workout video to Instagram, and she looks so toned.
The 50-year-old’s workout consisted of a variety of box jumps and trampoline exercises.
The actress also shared an important message in the video’s caption.
We love when Jennifer Garner shares her fitness tips and tricks—and her latest workout video has us taking notes. The actress took to Instagram earlier this week to show off a super intense box jump workout (where she showed off her major strength)—and to offer commentary on an important issue.
The 13 Going On 30 actress captioned her video: “Get in formation. #BansOffOurBodies,” in reference to the U.S.’s recent change in abortion laws. The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, ending federal abortion protection, has led many celebrities to speak out on the subject—Garner included.
While the message was serious, the video itself was a bit playful. In the clip Garner shows off her amazing strength by hitting her home gym to crush a high-intensity workout. The plyometric circuit consisted of some seriously steep, straight-up-and-down box jumps, side-to-side box jumps, and trampoline hops and handstands. The fun-loving fitness aficionado even threw a quick dance break on top of a block in the middle of the workout routine, showing off her salsa-style moves while moving her hips and twirling around.
According to the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), plyometric training is classified by “quick, powerful movement involving a system of reactive exercises,” often characterized by bounding, hops, and jumps—which looks a lot like what Garner is focusing on in her workout routine, minus the dance party.
Fans were super impressed with her post, too. One commenter writes: “WERK 🔥🔥🔥🔥.” Fire emojis are super justified here. “KNEES OF GOLD,” another says—which is also what we are all thinking. Another comment reads: “This is so wildly impressive,” to truly sum up the video.
Gravity-defying plyometric workouts aside, Garner has shared some other ways she achieves her super strong physique. She’s no stranger to a good jump rope workout for a dose of cardio and targets her sculpted arms with resistance band exercises like shoulder presses and hammer curls while sprinkling in free-weights and core workouts. The actress also previously told Prevention that some of her go-to workouts are from Body by Simone, which can aid in fat-burning and muscle-building. “It just makes you happy and gets your blood pumping and you’re ready to go,” she said.
Workout routine aside, we are in awe of Garner’s strength—both physically and mentally. And, we love that we can always count on Jen to keep it real.
