On Sunday, actress and comedian Rebel Wilson shared on Instagram that she had received "bad news" and "didn't have anyone to share it with."

Alongside an Instagram picture featuring Rebel alone on a beach, the 41-year-old Hustle star continued to write: "To all the women out there struggling with fertility, I feel ya. The universe works in mysterious ways and sometimes it all doesn’t make sense...but I hope there’s light about to shine through all the dark clouds."

The actress shared with E! News this past November that she had previously been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal disorder common among women of reproductive age that can lead to infertility. Throughout 2020, Rebel documented her weight-loss journey as part of what she called her "year of health."

It's unclear if her PCOS diagnosis is related to her recent Instagram post. But regardless, Rebel's followers readily followed up with supportive words and encouraging thoughts. "Remember it's ok to feel this way. Sitting with our emotions are important. I hope one day soon things work in your favour - love to you Rebel xx," one fan wrote. "You are strong," another added.

Hours later, Rebel updated her Instagram caption to thank her fans for sharing their positive and uplifting thoughts.

"Just wanted to say I woke up this morning and read through everyone’s kind messages and stories about their journeys and I can’t tell you how much that meant to me and has made me feel a lot better today," Rebel wrote. "Social media for the win here in terms of creating connection when I was in a very lonely place. So thank you everyone 💕 ."

Nearly a year after beginning to share her health journey on social media, Rebel hopped onto Instagram Live in December to tell her fans that she had been contemplating freezing her eggs in hopes of one day having a family.

"So, I was thinking fertility and having quality eggs in the bank," she told fans at the time. "I was like, 'Okay, I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna get healthy.'"
