Erin Napier is a woman of many trades, and now she can add children's book author to her already impressive resume.

The Home Town star teamed up with her friend and illustrator, Adam Trest, to create her first children's book inspired by what she knows best: a beautiful place to call home. The new book titled The Lantern House is set to be released in stores everywhere by May 2022, but is currently available for preorder on Amazon.

Erin writes in her latest Instagram post, "The Lantern House is a return to classic children's literature with the timeless story of a house as an ever-present member of the family, a watcher and keeper of the people who love and live within it."

Erin gave fans a little peak at the whimsical cover on Instagram along with her inspiration for the children's book. As a young girl, The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton and The House on East 88th Street by Bernard Waber were some of her favorite books to read. Now she wants to give fans (and her two adorable daughters) that similar warm, fuzzy feeling she got from exploring those stories as a child.

Written from the perspective of a house, Erin puts an emphasis on the meaning of home. A house is just a house until it's filled with stories and memories made inside those four walls that truly make it a home.

Her caption reads, "Imagine a house's early days as a home: A young family builds a picket fence and plants flowers in its yard, children climb the magnolia tree and play the piano in the living room, and there is music inside the house for many happy years. But what will happen when its windows grow dark, the paint starts to crumble, and its boards creak in the winter wind? The Lantern House dreams of a family who will love it again… and one day, a new story will emerge from within its walls."

Naturally, once Erin posted about her career news on social media, fans were ecstatic. "I'm so proud of y'all! And I can't wait for the world to read this story 🏡," someone wrote. "This is unbelievably beautiful, can't wait to get this on our shelves," wrote another.

We easily agree and it's just one more amazing project to add to Erin's many, many accomplishments!
