Ryan Reynolds has some mighty kind words for the man helping him get back into tip-top shape for Deadpool 3, but his arms are truly stealing the show.
The actor and Don Saladino hit the gym now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is over and projects can resume production, where the celebrity trainer and superhero got down to business. And, of course, Reynolds' "instagram boyfriend" Blake Lively was there to giddily document it all, snapping three shots of the duo—two of which featured the actor pressing a pair of 22.5 lb weights, arm veins bulging as he put his muscles to work.
"As I get ready to shove myself into Deadpool’s Big Red Body Condom™️ again," he joked when posting the photos, referencing the character's costume, "I have to aim the light at @donsaladino."He looked back on years of stunts and competition that has left his body "pretty f----d," admitting he can "push things too far sometimes," and shining a light on the trainer for helping him work out in a healthy way.
"Moderation’s never really been my friend. But thankfully Don has!" he continued. "He’s always been there to help me get back to functionality. Mentally and physically." The Marvel star also pointed out how "privileged" he is to be able to work with Saladino, assuring followers that he doesn't "take it for granted."
But while the pro trainer was featured in each photo in the sweet tribute, the true star of the show was Reynolds' arms.
"Bro put the J in Jacked," one follower observed, while another joked, "Do you even lift, bro?"
"Lighten up some, would ya? Making some of us old guys look bad!" another wrote.
Even Dax Shepard had an opinion, writing, "You better figure out a story device that will prohibit you from EVER wearing a shirt in this next one. I demand it. And so does America."
And hey, you certainly wouldn't catch us complaining.
