Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson might be the unexpected celeb couple that nobody (literally nobody) saw coming, but it seems the pair may have been linked further back than we thought.
Six months after the duo first kissed on SNL, fans have now uncovered a 2018 throwback post which sees Kim and Ariana Grande (Pete's ex) interacting over the comedian. Who could have predicted back then that Kim and Pete would end up together, eh?
To recap, Kim, 41, and Pete, 28, have been reportedly dating since around October 2021, when they were filmed kissing during an SNL sketch. They've since made things official and are now *finally* boyfriend and girlfriend. As for Ariana, Pete dated the singer between May and October 2018, with the pair engaged for four months before splitting.
Now, fans have discovered a 2018 Instagram post from Kim, which eerily links the SKIMS founder to Pete, three years before they even met. Plus, to make things more complicated, Pete's ex (and girlfriend at the time) Ariana also chimed in on Kim's Pete reference.
The 2018 pic featured Kim climbing into a v fancy car, adding the caption, "Universe must have my back ✨," - a lyric from Ariana's song titled 'Pete Davidson'. No prizes for guessing who that one's about, then.
At the time, Ariana then commented on Kim's post, finishing the lyric by writing, "fell from the sky into my lap." Yep, a lot going on here.
Instagram account Comments By Celebs reposted Kim's original caption along with Ariana's comment, and fans are pretty obsessed with the awkwardness of the whole thing.
Taking to the comments, one follower wrote, "Well this is awkward 😂," while another added, "This aged like fine wine."
A third commented, "This went full circle 😳," with a fourth agreeing, "This aged ✨ perfectly ✨."
